Abe's Magical Journey!

I remember the day the first computers were brought to our town. This being Latin America in the 90s meant they were something most of us had never encountered. Especially a 7 year old child. I was able to browse the internet for the first time ever. The future was upon me. A memory I would never forget. I have maintained a fascination with our modern information world into my adult life. A fascination that I would pursue into a degree and a career.

The information world has always seemed somewhat magical, and I have pursued this magic for myself. The ability to describe a specific logic with programming and use this logic to navigate a very large amount of information is something that remains very rewarding for me. SQL and database has taught me organizational power that allows me to keep information clean and efficient. Web design has given me the power to present myself and my talents to the entire world. Linux and shell have given me the ability to talk to computers directly. These skills will never stop being relevant as the role that computers play in our lives will ever increase.

Digitization is a trend that has remained steady my entire life, and it will likely never stop. Yet computers already play such a large role in society. This begs the question: Where do we go from here? The ability to talk about computers and to computers will likely be a determining factor in what makes winners and losers of tomorrow's society.
